Muscle Building Motivation


We all know very well that to gain muscle and increase your lean body mass does not happen over-night. It is a long hard process that requires you to train outside your comfort zone on a regular basis. Training once a week when you feel like it has never and will never build muscle, it requires commitment.

The first step is to get organized by keeping a training log and a nutrition log somewhere. It is also a good idea to jot down notes on how you feel because it will show you when something crops up that slows your motivation. It is also a good idea to set out/write down your short-term objectives with the weights you want to lift.

All senior executives use deadlines on their projects, you should do the same by setting dead-lines on your short-term goals. If you have a specific deadline to reach a bench weight or a squat weight with good form, it will help you to stay motivated, you can think of this objective whenever you think about training.

Visualizing is a key component to staying motivated. You should endeavor to find a visualization technique that works for you. From sitting quietly for a few minutes before your workout starts to relaxing and focus all your thinking on reaching your goals.

When you sit for 5 minutes before you begin your workout, all you need to do is go through the movements that you are about to perform. Think of the feeling you going to feel struggling to squeeze that last drop of strength out to finish the movement.

Before dropping off to sleep at night you should spend a few minutes thinking about your new strength, your new body and your new success in achieving the short-term objectives that you have written down and looked at more than once.

Visualization is a process, just like building muscle it will never happen overnight.
